10 Ways Self-Help Can Actually Help
And 1 way to make sure it does
Self-help is bullshit.
It doesn’t work.
It’s a scam.
Some critics are very vocal about the self-hep industry.
Although they may have a point, they also misunderstand the main purpose of self-development — to open your eyes to a new reality. Once that’s done, there is an awful lot of work to do, and that’s where most self-help aficionados fail.
Reading book after book, going to seminars, and doing affirmations won’t help you unless you are prepared to do the work.
Self-help is not a shortcut, it’s actually the hardest way to live your life. It means pushing yourself to the limit to achieve your full potential. And let me tell you, your potential doesn’t want to be reached.
Most people just want an easy life and don’t want to make that kind of effort. Nothing wrong with that. But then, they become very cynical when someone in their circle tries to improve.
