7 Reasons to Stop Watching the News
No news is good news
I’m writing these lines in June, just after the COVID-19 pandemic. Most people have been hooked to the news 24/7, trying desperately to find out something, anything. What’s going to happen? When will this end? Are we going to survive?
We want to be on top of it, we want to stay informed. We hope that if we keep watching maybe there’ll be some good news, or maybe it’ll be the end.
We are like this boxer on the ring that keeps getting hammered but still standing and coming back for more. Every blow he takes we recoil on the sofa but somehow, we can’t stop watching. Deep down we want him to go down so we can end our suffering.
And that’s exactly what the news are doing to you. They make you suffer and addicted at the same time. We know we should quit but it’s not that easy.
These are the reasons to stop watching the news:
1. Misinformation
You watch the news to stay informed. The problem is their priority is not to keep you informed but keep you hooked.
The more time you spend watching, the more money they make. Simple as that.
How do they get you glued to the screen? With fear.
