A bunch of bitcoin enthusiasts went there and run an experiment in El Zonte beach where they convinced some vendors to accept bitcoin. The experiment went well and the president decided to make it legal tender in the whole country.

I wouldn’t call that imperialism. The US didn’t intervene in any way, in fact they are opposed to it. Besides, bitcoin aims to displace the dollar as the main legal tender there. If anything this is anti imperialism
