Bitcoin doesn't have to be measured in dollars, this is just dome more out of habit than anything else.

You can measure bitcoin in chickens, houses or cars and still see how it appreciates againsts any asset class or commodity.

The dollar will dissapear one day and bitcoin will be the standard. It is just handy to speak in dollars as we all are failiar with it.

You are totally right, Bitcoin is a commodity but all other cryptos are nothing but securities. Big difference there
