CBDCs are a very powerful tool for governments, they are not just a currency. If they use this power to control their citizens (and I can’t see why they wouldn’t), we will see a very dystopian scenario. The only escape is bitcoin.
Bitcoin has been embraced faster in the developing world for obvious reasons -inflation, corruption, devaluation, confiscation and censorship — but even the strongest Fiat currencies will succumb to the power of a secure , fast, cheap, and more convenient form of money. Technology is mainly invented to get rid of the middlemen. Fiat money have too many of those, bitcoin has none.
