The End of globalization and the Beginning of a New Era
Today is my second day of house arrest. Here in southern Spain, the government has imposed a nationwide Lockdown and most of the population have been confined to their homes.
I’ve never seen anything like it. We are not allowed to leave the house unless we have a very good reason and you can prove it- buying food, medicines or going to hospital. People can go to work but only if their workplace is still open which most aren’t. Also there has been an increase in remote work.
Bars, restaurants, shops, cinemas, malls, gym, schools and many more shut down. Children are not allowed out to play and adults can’t go out for a walk or exercise even on their own. The idea is to keep the population still and to avoid spreading the virus.

Most commerces have been forced to close, many will never open again.
Every restaurant, hotel, gym won’t generate any income for months but they still have to pay the bills. The situation is unsustainable.
