Hi Mark,
Believe it or not, most people are not interested in learning the inner workings of bitcoin, the internet, or the combustion engine. They just want to use it, that's all.
For those who do, there are countless videos, articles, and books. I myself publish regularly trying to bring some light to this technology.
Second, bitcoin is taxed like any other capital gains investment so you pay when you sell. Same for stocks, gold, or real estate.
Governments will try their luck with CBDCs but most people will try to stick currency/asset that is not controlled by the government. Would you choose the internet we have in the west or the Chinese censored internet? Exactly.
And lastly, bitcoin can't be banned even if they try. This is the beauty of it. Being so decentralized with thousands of miners and nodes spread around the globe, it is pretty much unsinkable. When it's banned in one country it goes underground or moves to a different jurisdiction.
