Thanks for the reply David. The miners can be attacked by regulation or decree without realising and having time to react? How?
The moment there is the slightest suspicion of an attack on the network miners stop validating and fork out. The government end up spending billions (free for them of course) to create an orphan fork that no one follows. Embarrassing and wasteful.
Theoretically possible, probabilistically no chance.
Bitcoin is not Irak, can't effectively be attacked
