This is so true. When taking into account taxes, expenses and hidden costs most properties don't make a dime until the mortgage has been paid off.

So, it could be a great investment if you are lucky and extremely patient but in most cases it is not.

Unless you are young, find a great deal and are prepared to wait an eternity, I would say there are much better investments out there
